Programs & Events

  • TextBook Library
    • Run by student veterans for student veterans. The Mike Patterson Library is well stocked with donated text books and manuals for student veterans to check out on a semester basis. Continued donations are welcomed!
  • Professional Clothing Locker
    • A professional clothing locker is housed in the VRC for student veterans. The locker is stocked with new and gently-used professional men’s and women’s clothing. Students are able to access the clothing locker when needing professional attire to attend job fairs, interviews, presentations, etc. Everyone is welcome to donate!
  • Veterans Golf Classic
    • Each Spring, the Veterans Resource Center holds a Golf Classic at the Auburn University Club (AU Club). Each team of 4 will consist of one student veteran and three community or business members.
  • ASVA Gala
    • Each Fall, ASVA hosts their annual Veterans Gala. Our past guest speakers have consisted of Mike Durant, Travis Mills, Melissa Stockwell, and Noah Galloway. With the funds raised from this event, ASVA is able to provide 6 student veterans each a $2000 scholarship.
  • Operation Iron Ruck (OIR)
    • During the week of Thanksgiving, the Auburn Student Veterans Association (ASVA) partners with the Campus Veterans Association (CVA) at University of Alabama to complete a 150 mile ruck mark from Bryant-Denny Stadium to Jordan-Hare Stadium Stadium. Ruckers carried a 22 lb. rucksack representing the 22 veterans a day who commit suicide. The items in the rucksack were donated to the Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City. In 2021, we will do the same but in reverse, rucking from Auburn to Tuscaloosa.
  • Rucksacks to Backpacks
    • This technology initiative helped to raise over $12,000 for laptop purchases that are to be loaned out to student veterans in need of computers or other electronic devices for studying.
  • A.W.O.L.
    • Auburn Warrior Orientation and Learning (A.W.O.L.) is a new student orientation for incoming student veterans taught by student veterans. During the program, incoming students are able to learn key buildings on campus, check out where the good places to eat are, and see where their classes are. A member of ASVA and/or the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) implement the program and assist our incoming student veterans.
  • Veterans Success Program (VSP)
    • This program expands the academic and professional support system provided to student veterans by the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) in an eight-month mentorship program. As many as six student veterans a year, prior to their graduation, are coached by their individual, field-specific mentor during at least eight significant discussions to assist in their successful transition to private enterprise.
  • Women’s Leadership Forum
  • Green Zone Training
